The World Anti-Extremism Network (WAEN) is offering summer internships for those who are passionate about combating extremism, promoting peace, and advancing evidence-based solutions. Here you will get a chance to contribute to a global mission while advancing your skills in research, analysis, and content creation, and experience of day-to-day operations of a think tank and advocacy organization. You’ll collaborate directly with experts in research, policy, communications, and grassroots initiatives.

We’re Looking For:

  • Current undergraduates or recent graduates in fields such as International Relations, Political Science, Journalism, Communications, Sociology, or related disciplines.
  • Individuals with a strong interest in counter-extremism, human rights, conflict resolution, or social justice.
  • Critical thinkers, detail-oriented researchers, and creative communicators ready to support real-world initiatives.

Your Responsibilities:

Interns will work closely with WAEN’s team to:

  • Conduct news collection and analysis on global extremism trends.
  • Assist with research projects, including book reviews and policy briefs.
  • Draft articles, op-eds, and social media content to amplify our message.
  • Maintain and update critical databases on extremist activities and countermeasures.
  • Support outreach campaigns and educational content creation.

Program Details:

Duration: Summer 2025. This internship will last for at least two months and can be as long as six months.

Format: Remote

Stipend: While this internship is unpaid, it prioritizes professional growth over financial compensation. You’ll participate in strategy sessions to gain insight into designing counter-extremism initiatives, contribute to policy briefs, data-driven reports, and campaigns that drive real-world impact, and network with activists, policymakers, and peacebuilding leaders through exclusive events.

Deadline: 30 April 2025
