About World Anti-Extremism Network (WAEN):

The World Anti-Extremism Network (WAEN) is a global organization nonprofit dedicated to countering extremism and authoritarianism through research, education, and advocacy. We work to promote peace, tolerance, and human rights by challenging narratives that fuel violence and oppression. Our mission is to empower individuals and communities with the knowledge and tools needed to resist extremist ideologies and authoritarian practices.

Position Summary:

WAEN is seeking motivated final-year students or recent graduates to join our team as interns. This internship offers a unique opportunity to enhance your knowledge and skills in a global context while contributing to the fight against extremism and authoritarianism. Interns will play a key role in supporting our newsletter and content creation efforts, providing critical insights and analyses that drive our mission forward.

Key Responsibilities:

News Collection & Analysis: Gather news from global resources, provide summaries, and conduct in-depth analysis to understand extremism and authoritarianism, including strategies for countering these threats.
Daily news: Produce daily news summarizing significant global developments related to extremism and authoritarianism.
Feature Writing: Write feature articles for our newsletter, delving into topics related to extremism, counter-extremism strategies, and related global issues.
Content Creation: Design infographics and visual content that illustrate key trends, data, and insights for our readership.
Newsletter Design & Layout: Assist in the design and layout of the newsletter, ensuring it is visually appealing and engaging for subscribers.
Subscriber Engagement: Develop strategies to engage our audience on social media.

Eligibility:

  • Final-year students or recent graduates.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Interest in global issues, particularly extremism and authoritarianism.
  • Experience in content creation, research, or graphic design is a plus
