
Nauval El Ghifari

Nauval El Ghifari holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Universitas Padjadjaran and has a two-year professional background as a Research Assistant and Publication Assistant. He has made significant contributions to various organizations, including LP3ES, MAARIF Institute, Division for Applied Social Psychology Research (DASPR), K-Hub PVE Community/PeaceGeneration Indonesia, and the Indonesia Knowledge Hub on Counterterrorism/Violent Extremism at BNPT.
During his tenure, Nauval focused on extensive research projects, particularly mapping the historical landscape of terrorism in Indonesia. This involved studying groups ranging from NII and JI to pro-ISIS factions, culminating in the creation of a guidebook to aid community advisors working with individuals affected by terrorism, under the auspices of DASPR. Additionally, Nauval provided invaluable data assistance for literature reviews for projects such as “The Acceleration for Implementation of the National Action Plan on Preventing/Countering Violent Extremism in Indonesia’s Province” (I-KHub BNPT), led by Dr. phil. Syafiq Hasyim and Dr. Muhammad Wildan.
His contributions extend to the academic sphere, where he presented conference articles at prestigious events like the RSIS NTU Graduate Student Board Conference, Go South UGM, and the Symposium on Muslim Politics and World Society UIII. Furthermore, Nauval is actively engaged in initiatives combating violent extremism, including participating in the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT) Southeast Asia Youth Leaders for Online PCVE and membership in the Extremism & Gaming Research Network (EGRN). He also received training from Pacific Forum in the “Youth, Gender, and Preventing Violent Extremism in SEA Workshop.”
