Charles Chilufya

There are times when I face difficulties in communicating directly with my community leaders. They are often preoccupied with their responsibilities and unwilling to listen to my ideas about innovative solutions. However, I have discovered a unique approach to tackling common challenges related to human rights, democracy, and freedom. I am grateful for my strong background with the Students for Liberty network, which has helped me develop a deep appreciation for the value of democracy. I firmly believe that the power of democracy should be in the hands of the people, promoting equality for all individuals, regardless of their identity or status. Drawing inspiration from the voices of many African heroes who have fought for democracy, I remain committed to defending it.
I am convinced that the principles of democracy should be upheld at all times and that it is our responsibility to ensure everyone has an equal opportunity to participate in the democratic process. In many underdeveloped countries, individuals have been deprived of their basic human rights and freedom due to societal needs. However, it is not ethical for society to dictate these fundamental rights to others. Politicians must not impose their definition of democracy on citizens. Instead, human rights and democracy should be determined and driven by the people themselves.
