The Linda Whetstone Award for Freedom and Human Rights | Call for Nominations

The Linda Whetstone Award for Freedom and Human Rights is an annual honor recognizing outstanding individual whose work exemplifies the principles of human rights, freedom, and the fight against extremism and authoritarianism. Each year, one recipient is selected for this prestigious award based on their exceptional contributions to advancing these causes. The award will be formally presented during the Gala Dinner (Prosperity Dinner) on the opening night of the Toronto Democracy Forum.

We invite you to submit nominations for individuals whose work demonstrates courage, dedication, and meaningful impact in promoting human rights and freedom. You may also nominate yourself if your journey reflects these values. Whether it’s a grassroots activist, a fearless advocate, or a quiet changemaker, we want to hear their story.

The recipients of the award will be selected by the Board of Directors and Advisory Council of the World Anti Extremism Network and will be invited to attend the Toronto Democracy Forum on November 16–17, 2025.
