Dr. Zia Ur Rahman Farooqi is the Chief Executive of NIDA-Pakistan, a national non-governmental organization working across Pakistan to promote peacebuilding, social cohesion, and community development. He holds academic qualifications in MD, MPH, and MA in International Relations, and has distinguished himself as a health, nutrition, and multi-sector development expert with over 18 years of experience in humanitarian response and development initiatives. Under his leadership, NIDA-Pakistan has expanded its presence nationwide, implementing projects in health systems strengthening, immunization, education, livelihoods, disaster risk reduction, climate resilience, and peacebuilding. Dr. Farooqi has worked extensively with marginalized, rural, and refugee communities, fostering inclusive development and ensuring gender equality and social protection remain central to organizational programming. A seasoned development professional, he has collaborated with government institutions, international NGOs, and grassroots organizations, leading impactful interventions that address both immediate humanitarian needs and long-term sustainable development.
