Morris I O Anyim

Ikechukwu O. Anyim (Morris) serves as Program Coordinator at the African Center for Legal Research and Training. He is a Specialist on Social Protection and Human Security. He holds a Master’s degree in International Relations and Diplomacy, an LL.B., and is a Senior Advocate of Laws.

In 2009, he was appointed Regional Director of the World Initiative for Orphans, a position he held for five years, overseeing the organization’s operations across the 15 ECOWAS member states before becoming National Coordinator of the Child and Environmental Development Association of The Gambia.The organization advocates for the protection and promotion of human rights.

He has held regional positions and participated in peace negotiations in some of the war affected countries in West Africa mainly in Liberia and Sierra Leone. His experience and investigative skills enable him to work effectively in all human rights matters and complaints on unlawful imprisonment, discrimination and exploitation. He has observed trials, elections, and public demonstrations to help ensure that human rights are respected and protected. He has worked as a humanitarian and emergency personnel in coordinating emergency and relief services within West African troubled zones. He has facilitated numerous training sessions on human rights and violations of the law at different levels.
