Syed Kausar Abbas

Syed Kausar Abbas is the Executive Director of the Sustainable Social Development Organization (SSDO) and holds an M.Phil. in Public Policy. With over 18 years of experience in Pakistan’s social development sector, he specializes in governance, child protection, counter-trafficking, and institutional capacity building. He is an alumnus of the 26th National Security Workshop (NDU), the International Visitors Leadership Program (USA), and the Cross Culture Program (Germany), bringing strong international exposure to policy reform, peacebuilding, and rights-based programming. Mr. Abbas currently serves as a Member of the Board of Governors of the Child Protection & Welfare Bureau, Government of Punjab. He has led major national initiatives to strengthen the capacities of parliamentarians, government officials, youth, and academia on countering violent extremism, peacebuilding, social cohesion, transparency and right to information, good governance, and addressing transnational organized crimes in Pakistan and globally.

He has developed a range of policy briefs and factsheets drawing on data-driven research about violence against women and children, human trafficking, migrant smuggling, transparency and right to information, counter-terrorism, and terrorist financing in Pakistan. He has also represented Pakistan as a panelist at numerous national and international conferences and policy forums.
